Three members of your Halifax Mooseheads have been added to Team Canada’s roster for the upcoming IIHF Under 18 World Championship in Slovakia.
Defencemen Jared McIsaac from Truro and Jocktan Chainey will be joined by goalie Alex Gravel in the International tournament. Teammate Benoit-Olivier Groulx was also given an invitation by Hockey Canada but is unable to play due to injury.
The team departs for Slovakia today to continue its training camp and play two pre-tournament games – April 9 in versus Russia; and April 10th against Switzerland. Canada opens the 2017 IIHF U18 World Championship on April 13 against Latvia.
Also today the Q League holds the first five-team Draft Lottery. It’ll determine the order of selection for June’s Q Entry Draft in Saint John. This time around Halifax has 10% odds of moving up to the top spot.
