Queensland Beach Is Now Closed!

Queensland Beach Provincial Park, near Hubbards, will be closed as of today.

It’s shut down to allow for road construction and parking lot improvements.

A detour for motorists will be in place and the beach and roadway will be closed to pedestrians. The beach is expected to re-open on June 30th.

My wife and I were there yesterday and there was a crew there doing some prepwork, word has it they are moving the road back by the pond and move the gravel parking lot closer to the beach.

The Department of Natural Resources says most of the damage was caused by a severe winter storm in early January. The cost to fix Queensland $541,000.

A question? Shouldn’t this have been done earlier in the Spring, rather than the first day of Summer? #JustSayin’
