As legit an artist as they come, Owen Barney has spent the past two years behind the scenes honing his craft. Since he was first signed in 2016, he has spent summers perfecting his live show in cottage-country in Muskoka, mastering his guitar skills, and writing music down in Nashville.
Owen is now ready to take things to the next level. From CCMA showcases, CRS performances, live shows, and station visits, you may recognize this heartbreaker as he has organically become a staple in the Canadian country community.
Now, with a team behind him and songs that are undeniable hits, Owen is ready to get his music out into the world. Produced by the acclaimed Dave “Dwave” Thomson (Lady Antebellum, Autumn Hill, Washboard Union), “Letting Go” is the perfect welcome to Owen’s stunning voice and incredible songwriting sensibilities.
Born and raised in Toronto, country singer Owen Barney has been strumming the guitar since he was just seven years old, influenced by country heavy-hitters Eric Church, Dean Brody, and Jason Aldean. He has played shows around Toronto from the age of 14, and has spent the last few years honing his skills as a performer.
“What I’ve always hoped for myself is to someday be performing to a crowd that knows every word of my songs,” says Barney. Now 17 years old and finished high school, Owen is ready to hit the ground running and melt a couple hearts along the way. ~ Owen Barney
