Today we helped make a difference in the lives of people living with Muscular Dystrophy and Juvenile Diabetes!
First stop on the #OneHotSummer Tour today was at the Walk For Muscular Dystrophy. Held at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront this year, we joined hundreds of volunteers to help raise money for MD. The event started off with games, a delicious BBQ put on by the Sackville Fire Department firefighters, plus music and prizes from Hot Country 103.5. At the last count, the total raised was at $48,784.55! Incredible!
Next up was a car wash put on by Matthew and Mackenzie from Auburn High School’s Business Management Class to raise money for Juvenile Diabetes. It was held at the Portland Street Superstore Gas Bar. They surpassed their goal of $300, but kept on scrubbin’! We were there handing out swag, playing hot tunes, hosting washer toss and hula hoop competitions, and jumping up and down on the sidewalk with Car Wash signs (mainly Jenny B LOL)! The day was absolutely perfect for a car wash as it hit 22*C with loads of sunshine! Thanks to everyone that stopped by to see us and donated to a great cause!
Keep your eyes on the lookout for us all summer long on our One Hot Summer Tour, brought to you by Subway Canada, Murphy Gear, 3M Trim-Line, Value Village, Colonial Honda, Fraserway RV, and Kubota Canada.
