Gavin DeGraw sang the National Anthem ahead of the Nashville Predators Game 5 playoffs match-up against the Dallas Stars on Saturday.
As seen in footage posted online the singer and songwriter took the ice in a Preds jersey and became the first non-country artist to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” before a Stanley Cup Playoffs game in the past three years.
After his performance, DeGraw slipped and fell on the ice, but later joked, “I didn’t realize singing the national anthem was a full-contact sport. #ImOkay.”
The Stars ended up winning 5-3 on Saturday, taking a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series ahead of Game 6 on Monday night. Should a seventh game be needed, it will take place on Wednesday in Nashville.
Thankfully Gavin is alright.
