BRAD PAISLEY tells us about the roles that he and CARRIE UNDERWOOD have settled into through their years as CMA co-hosts. He said, quote, “We have this shtick now, which we build on. He gets to play the idiot, and Carrie gets to be the voice of reason.” You could also say he plays the fool, and she’s the straight man. Whatever it’s called, it’s working. This is their 10th year. The Country Music World has been faced with a ton of challenges since Vegas nd the theme of the show this year is very much about unity and coming together as a format.
And what a show it’s going to be!
Niall Horan is ready to take the stage with Maren Morris and he’s humbled by the invitation. The two will sing their new song off Horan’s Flicker album, “Seeing Blind.” He’s thrilled with the invite. This marks just one of many times Horan and Morris will collaborate. Horan is taking her out on the road with him for his 2018 Flicker Tour, where she’ll open for him on all the U.S. stops. The CMA Awards will feature a variety of other collaborative performances, including Brad Paisley and Kane Brown teaming up for Paisley’s new single “Heaven South,” Kelsea Ballerini with Reba McEntire uniting for a duet on Ballerini’s current single, “Legends,” and Dierks Bentley and Rascal Flatts. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill will also take the stage.
Don’t miss the 51st Annual CMA will air Wednesday, Nov 8th on ABC.
MAREN MORRIS and her musician fiancé Ryan Hurd got engaged in July, and will be getting married in the spring. She’s doing the wedding planning now, and is making it clear that she doesn’t want anything too formal.
