LORETTA LYNN broke her hip back on New Year’s Day, but her
daughter says she’s already putting weight on it and doing rehab.
The timing is bad though, because she was just starting to hit her stride after that stroke back in May. Her daughter said she was having band rehearsals and finishing up another album. It’s too early to tell when she’ll get back to that.
Meanwhile, Loretta’s sister CRYSTAL GAYLE is celebrating her 67th birthday today . . . but all she wants is for you to keep Loretta in your thoughts.
MADDIE & TAE had a big setback in 2017 when their record company shut down. Fortunately, they signed with someone else and a new album is “110%” coming out this year.
The National League of Junior Cotillions put THOMAS RHETT on their list of the “Ten Best-Mannered People of 2017.” He comes in at #8. Others on the list include pro golfer Rickie Fowler, Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, and Sadie Robertson of “Duck Dynasty”.
AND THOMAS RHETT says his song “Marry Me” imagines what might have happened if he and his wife Lauren hadn’t gotten together. He recalls years ago when they were each dating other people, until the day he took a chance and told her how he really felt. Fortunately, she felt the same.
Quote, “It’s a make-believe story about me being invited to her wedding, and never getting the chance to tell her how I felt about her. I thought that was an interesting way to write a sad song, because it could have been my life very easily.
” Someone asked MAREN MORRIS on Twitter if she had any tips for writers and singers planning a move to Nashville . . . and she actually took the time to write a response. We’ll share all that on today’s HotCountrySkinny. 8:40am/4:40pm
