8 coordinated explosions that tore through churches and hotels in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday have killed at least 290 people and injured another 500. 24 people have been arrested in connection with the suicide bombs. Police are calling this a brand new type of terrorism.

A Nova Scotian man was killed on Friday night in Mexico. 70 year old Bruce Allen of Dartmouth was found by his partner in their vacation apartment with stab wounds. One suspect has been arrested but no charges have been laid yet.

Two people are facing charges after police raided a store on Sackville Drive on Saturday morning. A large quantity of cannabis products were seized, including cannabis, oils and edibles. Police say a man and a woman face charges up to $25,000.

Police are warning the public for possible door to door scammers after receiving complaints from the Eastern Passage area. Reports say 2 people were soliciting donations for a local charity, but weren’t able to provide appropriate identification. Anyone with information is being asked to contact police.
