A woman is urging Canadians to write their MPs to push for change when it comes to assisted dying laws in Nova Scotia. Audrey Parker was a stage 4 breast cancer patient who said the law’s condition that patients must be mentally competent & able to consent immediately before the procedure is unfair & extreme. Parker has since passed away peacefully at her Halifax home, surrounded by family & friends.


A 26 year old man opened fire inside a Walmart in Miramichi on Wednesday before leading police on a lengthy car chase. Although no one was injured the Walmart was put on lockdown for almost an hour. The shooter died of his injuries.


Chief Justice Joseph Kennedy of the Nova Scotia Supreme Court announced yesterday that he will be retiring next May. 74 year old Kennedy was elevated to the Supreme Court in 1997. Kennedy could always be counted on to puncture the stuffiness in a room with some well chosen words.
