An attempted act of kindness landed a man in handcuffs yesterday when he tried to pay the tab of a cop at a fast food joint in Bedford. The man was in the drive-thru at the time and drunk behind the wheel. The 42 year old Lower Sackville man was arrested and is facing charges.


The Canada Revenue Agency has charged a businesswoman from Millbrook First Nation in Cole Harbour with evading $2.2 million in taxes. Lisa L. Marshall, the operator of the Traditional Trading Post, failed to collect or remit her GST & HST on sales of tobacco to non-Indigenous people. If convicted she could spend up to 5 years in jail.


Nova Scotia’s marijuana industry has produced the first legal strain of homegrown cannabis called Skosha Nor’Easter. It’s a sativa dominated variety with 20% THC. Breathing Green Solutions says it expresses aromas of pine needles, spice and citrus.
