A man has died following a 2 vehicle collision on Old Sambro Road last night. The 45 year old man was driving inbound toward Sussex Street when he collided with an SUV travelling outbound. The man died at the scene.


Federal investigators still don’t know why 24 year old Max Hinch died aboard a sinking boat near Eastern Passage while 2 others on board managed to escape safely. Officials are trying to learn where he was on the boat when it started to sink and if he was wearing a PFD. Hinch was engaged and had a 4 year old son.


Nova Scotia’s environment minister has approved the plans to twin 38 kilometres of Highway 104 between Sutherlands River and Addington Forks. The project is expected to take up to 5 years with construction beginning later this year. Dust, noise and developing a plan to protect wildlife, vegetation and water will be closely monitored throughout the construction.
