The union representing 50,000 Canada Post employees has begun a series of rotating strikes. The Canadian Union of Postal Workers says the 24 hour strike began at 1:00AM this morning in Halifax. The union says mail will still be delivered but will be delayed.

3 women are dead after 3 vehicles collided on Highway 104 east of Antigonish on Saturday afternoon. Three others were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Northern Pulp has taken immediate action to fix a leak in Pictou Landing. The leak was reported a day after the company began its annual maintenance shutdown Saturday. The leak was found and contained with 30 minutes.
