Air Canada has grounded its Boeing 737 Max 8 airplanes until at least July 1st. The airline says this decision is intended to provide customers with assurance as they book flights and travel in the coming months. Some routes are being suspended entirely, including some flights out of Halifax, St. John’s, Calgary and Vancouver.

A pedestrian died last night in Central Onslow after being hit by a vehicle. RCMP were called to Highway 2 just before 8:30. No other details have been released.
Halifax Mayor Mike Savage knew more money would be announced in yesterday’s federal budget, but not this much money. Savage was shocked with the Trudeau government’s announcement about doubling the amount of gas tax money they’re willing to share with cities & towns. Our share of the gas tax is around $25 million so if it’s doubled then it’ll be around $50 million for one year.
