A body has been recovered from Barrio Lake in Digby County. RCMP divers found the body around 11:00AM yesterday. Divers were called to search the area this week after 2 men fell into the water while canoeing on Saturday.

4 men are facing charges after they beat a 69 year old man until he was knocked unconscious. The attack happened on Monday afternoon outside a residence in Bible Hill. The four suspects, ages 27 to 34, remain in custody and are scheduled for court.

Nova Scotians who don’t identify as male or female will soon have the option of choosing “X” on their birth certificates. Proposed amendments to the Vital Stats Act will also make the display of the sex field optional on birth certificates & waive the $25 fee to change the sex indicator. Service Nova Scotia Minister Geoff MacLellan says the changes are about making Nova Scotia more inclusive and it’s the right thing to do.
