A 66 year old man was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries after he was hit by a car while crossing Willett Street on Wednesday night. Police were called to the scene around 9:00PM.
No word yet on the mans condition or if charges will be laid.


The blue green algae warning for Lake Banook and Lake Micmac has been lifted. Recent test results indicate that toxin levels are within safe limits and algae blooms have not been found in either lake since the end of August. The warning was issued August 2 for Lake Micmac and August 15th for Lake Banook.


Nova Scotia has introduced legislation to ban unnecessary cosmetic surgery for animals. This will include procedures such as cutting off tails, ear cropping, removing the ability of dogs to bark & declawing cats. The changes to the Animal Protection Act were introduced yesterday by Agriculture Minister Keith Colwell.
