A 66 year old Halifax man who worked as a teacher & a volunteer coach is facing 27 sexual assault charges against more than a dozen youths. Police began an investigation in October 2016 after several people came forward and reported being sexually assaulted back in the 70’s & 80’s. Michael McNutt was arrested without incident Wednesday morning.

Premier Stephen McNeil is downplaying comparisons of health care in Cape Breton to that in the developing world. The NDP held a conference in Sydney on Wednesday to say the situation on the island is at a breaking point. But McNeil defended his government’s plan to close 2 hospitals, replacing them with new community health centres.

Develop Nova Scotia says a buyer has been found for the Digby Pines Golf Resort and Spa. The new owner plans to continue to operate the resort and keep things the same. No word yet on the name of the buyer.
