Monday September 10th 2018 

A Halifax man is facing charges after he assaulted a crossing guard in Clayton Park on Friday morning. The crossing guard was helping pedestrians get across the intersection of Lacewood Drive & Clayton Park Drive when one of the pedestrians became confrontational, assaulted the guard, then took off. The 55 year old from man was located and arrested.


A 24 year old man has life threatening injuries after an ATV crash Saturday evening in Indian Brook. The man was riding alone when he went off the roadway & hit a culvert. He was taken to hospital in Halifax by helicopter.


The campaign to build the ‘Never Forgotten National Memorial Monument’ in Green Cove, Cape Breton is still alive. A sign was built this summer by supporters of the controversial project, which includes a 24 metre high ‘Mother Canada’ statue. The wooden sign sits on the lawn of a ‘Never Forgotten Monument’ supporter in the middle of Ingonish.
