An algae bloom in Lake Micmac at Shubie Park is closed to swimming. Algae blooms may produce toxins that can cause mild to severe health problems. People & pets are being asked not to enter the water at this time.

Convicted killer William Sandeson went back to court yesterday to ask to have his computer returned to him. Sandeson, a former Dalhousie University medical student, says the information on the computer has sentimental value to him. A copy of the computer’s hard drive will be given to Sandeson’s father.

A cannabis dispensary in the west end of Halifax was set on fire Wednesday night. Police responded to Chronic Releaf on Joseph Howe Drive around 12:30AM. The suspect is described as being a tall man wearing a backpack and his face was covered.
