Of the 18 Canadians who died on a plane that crashed in Ethiopia on Sunday, two of them had a connection with Halifax. Angela Rehhorn & Danielle Moore were recent graduates of Dalhousie University and were both past volunteers with the Canadian Sea Turtle Network in Halifax. The Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft crashed within minutes after taking off, killing all 157 people on board.
A firearm belonging to an off duty RCMP officer was stolen from his personal vehicle on Saturday night in Halifax. The 9mm pistol was taken from his vehicle that was parked on Granville Street some time between 7:30PM-9:30PM. The pistol was inside a lockbox that was legally allowed in his vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
A stop work order was issued yesterday by the Nova Scotia Labour Department after a construction worker was injured at a job site in Dartmouth. A man was working on a new hotel under construction on Shubie Drive when he fell from some scaffolding. The man was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries.
