An intense search is underway in Inverness County for a 31 year old man who’s been missing since June 30th. Colin Beaton of Lower Sackville wandered away from a cottage in Harbourview, near Port Hood, around 2:00AM Saturday. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.


Looks like a wild bird infection may be back in Nova Scotia. The parasite, trichomonosis, is commonly transmitted through food & water and flourishes best in damp bird seed. The public is being asked to not hang bird feeders in their yard at this time.


Police Chief Jean Michel Blais has announced that he will be retiring by March 31st, 2019. Blais was appointed to the role in October 2012 after 25 years with the RCMP. A formal recruitment process will begin for a new Chief.
