2 men have been arrested after shots were fired in north end Dartmouth early this morning. 3 men were seen running near Lahey Road & Catherine Street around 12:30 after the gunshots were heard. No injuries have been reported.


A 35 year old Halifax man accused of 3 sexual assaults testified in his own defense yesterday at his trial involving the first of 3 women. Matthew Percy told the court that the woman wanted to have sex with him. Percy, a former SMU groundskeeper, also faces charges of voyeurism and overcoming resistance by chocking.


Premier Stephen McNeil told reporters yesterday in Halifax that he is still very confident in his governments decision for the future plans of hospitals in Cape Breton. Emergency departments will be shut down at Northside General & New Waterford hospitals. The space will be replaced with modern health centres, such as mental health or addiction services.
