Firefighters are at Dalhousie University’s Agricultural Campus in Bible Hill where a fire has caused significant damage. Around 10PM the roof of the Cox Institute, located on Pictou Road became engulfed in 2 metre high flames. No word on the cause & no one was injured.


Police have identified the 21 year old man killed in Eastern Passage this week as Jamie Lee Bishop of Lunenburg County. Bishop was walking on Hornes Road Monday around 12:30AM when he was shot by a passing car. RCMP are looking for a dark, 4-door Chevrolet car that could be linked to the shooting.


Irving Shipbuilding & the union at the shipyard have reached a new tentative contract agreement. The deal comes just a week after more than 800 shipyard workers rejected a tentative agreement & threatened to strike. However the strike was avoided when Irving & the union decided to go back to the bargaining table.
