Recreational marijuana use will soon be legal in Canada after the Senate passed a historic bill yesterday. Canada is the second country in the world to implement legislation to permit a nationwide marijuana market. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau wants to keep marijuana away from underage users and reduce related crime.

A 22 year old female took the stand in Halifax court yesterday during the sexual assault trial of 35 year old Matthew Percy. Percy is facing 3 separate allegations of sexual assault, each involving a different woman. The incidents happened at different times & are being dealt with in separate trials.

Mayor Mike Savage says a bid to bring professional football to Halifax is one step closer. Regional council got the update yesterday afternoon from Maritime Football Limited. TSN’s Dave Naylor says that the group had reached an agreement with the CFL for a 3 step process to secure the league’s 10th team.
