A 21 year old man has died after being shot while walking in Eastern Passage early yesterday morning. The man was walking on Hornes Road when a passing vehicle stopped and shot him. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

A funeral home in Sydney has been punished for mishandling money for a prepaid funeral. Chant’s Funeral Home will no longer be allowed to sell prearranged funerals in trust. The province received a complaint about Chant’s after a family received an invoice for a funeral they believed had been prepaid.

Saint Mary’s University is celebrating after their new campus arena was unveiled yesterday. ‘The Dauphinee Centre’, named in honour of the late Bob Dauphinee, a SMU alumni, donated $2 million for the arena through his estate. The arena will feature an NHL sized ice surface that will seat 850 fans but have standing room for more than 1200 people.
