Irving Shipbuilding offered its workers a deal that would have paid workers just over $73,000 a year. However the union whose members rejected it Wednesday say it’s not about money. The union recommended that workers accept the deal but they voted against it.

A Dartmouth man has been sentenced to 4 and a half years in prison for a drunk driving accident that killed his own brother. 48 year old Lincoln MacLellan was sentenced yesterday afternoon after he pleaded guilty to a charge of impaired driving causing death. The crash happened in Chezzetcook in October 2015 on a Sunday afternoon.

RCMP is asking parents to have discussions with their children regarding the proper use of 911. This comes after police responded to two 911 calls from a 12 year old who complained about his guardian making him a salad he didn’t like. When RCMP arrived at the child’s home in Oyster Pond, Nova Scotia they spoke to the child about when it is appropriate to call 911.
