One person has died and another is critically injured after a car crash yesterday morning near Windsor. RCMP were called to the scene on Avondale Road in Poplar Grove just after 7AM. Police are investigating into the cause of the crash.


58 year old Chris Melanson of Weymouth, N.S. has been identified as the second victim in a fishing boat crash off southeastern Prince Edward Island. The other victim was 20 year old Justin MacKay of Montague. The two men died when their fishing boats collided 9 kilometres off shore.


Nova Scotia Power has been given the go ahead to proceed with a $133 million project to install smart meters in homes and businesses. The meters will automatically measure how much electricity people consume. Nova Scotia Power will also instantly know if a customer loses power.
