Fire crews are currently monitoring a forest fire burning in Cole Harbour. By last night the fire had covered an estimated 6 to 8 hectares in an area known as the Shearwater Flyer trail. As a precaution RCMP went door to door on Lakeridge Crescent & Astral Drive asking people to leave their homes.


There was a fatal car crash on Highway 2 in Wellington last night. Lower Sackville RCMP responded to the collison around 7:30. A 19 year old man suffered serious injuries and an 80 year old man died at the scene.

A young man was found on Highway 223 in Leitches Creek, just outside of Sydney, early yesterday morning. Police say there had been a big party nearby, believed to be a high school graduation party. The teenager died in hospital.
