A woman has died & another woman is serious injured after a crash involving a car & a dump truck in Lower Sackville yesterday afternoon. The woman who died was a passenger in the car and the woman who was seriously injured was the driver of the car. The driver of the dump truck did not appear to be injured.

It took 15 fire departments almost 8 hours to put out a tire fire at an auto salvage yard in Upper Rawdon. Firefighters were called to the scene just west of Shubenacadie around 6:30 Tuesday night. No one was injured.

Yesterday the province announced $1.2 million in grants for day programming for Nova Scotians with disabilities. Premier Stephen McNeil says grants of up to $50,000 each were given to 34 organizations that create accessible recreation & employment. While the grants are for one time projects the money will be available next year as well.
