Yesterday at a sentencing hearing a woman who was sexually assaulted by a classmate at Dalhousie University says she now suffers from PTSD. Chris Davidson, who was found guilty of sexual assault & unlawful confinement, claims he blacked out & has no memory of what happened. Nova Scotia Supreme Court Justice Glen McDougall reserved his decision for today.


A group of Canadian professors are speaking out against a Halifax university’s handling of a residential schools course dilemma. The group says that the race or ethnicity of a professor should not be a consideration when assigning a course. Mount Saint Vincent University found itself in conflict after assigning a course about Canada’s residential schools to a non-Indigenous professor.


Starting today a popular Halifax off-leash dog park is getting a facelift which will take until mid June to complete. The work won’t affect park hours but crews will be on-site working Monday to Friday from 7AM-6PM. The changes include a new surface in the large dog running area, repairs to fencing, a shade structure & more lighting.
