A man from Cumberland County is facing charges after he wore camouflage, a mask and carried a rifle while running towards a home near the community of Stanley. Police say the 30 year old suspect and the homeowner are known to each other. The man is being held in custody and is due in court in Amherst today.

Three Provincial Liberal MP’s are speaking out in support of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Bernadette Jordan, Mark Eyking and Rodger Cuzner all say they have full confidence in the prime minister and his governing capabilities. Justin Trudeau is set to make a speech in Ottawa this morning.

The provincial government is going to start offering legal help to sexual assault complainants during court trials. Victims will now have access to free legal representation to have their past sexual history considered as part of the evidence in criminal court cases. Advocates for victims of sexual assault say it’s a good step in the right direction.
A Halifax man has been nominated to be on a 2019 international list of most influential people of African descent under the age of 40. Quentrel Provo is the founder of the ”Stop the Violence, Spread the Love” campaign and has organized many peace walks throughout the years. Provo says it’s very humbling to be considered for this list.
