Almost 600,000 litres of sewage flowed into the Halifax Harbour after someone broke into a restricted area of the MacKay Bridge. An intruder entered a secured area of the MacKay Bridge around 3:30AM on Saturday and accessed an electrical panel to turn off breakers. That caused the sewage from 5 wastewater pumping stations to spill into the harbour over the course of several hours.
