IWK health care workers have finalized an essential services agreement with the labour board. The agreement set out staffing and other expectations in the event of job action. Recent government legislation required the agreements to be in place before job action could happen.

For the second time in a week, a Nova Scotia editorial cartoonist has had their work stolen to profit off a national tragedy. Michael de Adder’s drawing of 2 hockey players in Toronto & Humboldt jerseys with their arms around each other went online on Tuesday. The image has appeared on merchandise being sold on TeeChip, an online retailer based in California, without de Adder’s permission.

Regulations for Canada’s barbecue brushes could be in the works soon. Health Canada wants to develop a voluntary standard for barbecue brushes and it’s estimated the work will take 12-18 months to complete. There are currently no standards for safety labels, manufacturing or testing procedures.
