Staff who worked at the call centre, ServiCom, in Sydney are still owed money. ServiCom closed suddenly back in December, putting its 600 employees out of work. Staff are expected to receive notice this week explaining why the sudden closure happened, and receive the money they’re owed.
Halifax Transit had to detour 11 bus routes yesterday because of cars parked along streets that are too narrow after the 2 winter storms we had in 2 days. Halifax Regional Fire says the excess snow has covered many fire hydrants which is a safety hazard. After the city enforced the overnight parking ban on Tuesday 498 tickets were issued.
An ice wall that’s formed in Irish Vale, Cape Breton, is gaining a lot of attention. Huge ice blocks have piled up along the shore of the Bras d’Or Lake, right next to Route 4. It’s believed this is the third time this ice wall has formed in the past 15 years, but never to this size before. The ice is 4-6 metres high, 4-5 metres wide and 700 metres long.
