A home near the Shearwater air base was destroyed by fire last night. Firefighters were called to Hines Road, where it took them about an hour to put out the fire. No one was injured and the cause is not yet known.

Police were called to Mount Saint Vincent University early Monday where a woman was grabbed in a parking area behind the Birch Residences. The woman fought back and hit the suspect before running to safety. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

2932 is the number of parking ban tickets that were issued this winter over 9 overnight parking bans. Although the weather might not be finished, that number is about half that of the previous 2 years. Last winter just under 5000 tickets were issued and 2 years ago over 12,000 tickets were issued.
