A strike vote today could bring Nova Scotia teachers a step closer to illegal job action. Educators from across the province will vote yes or no to strike action after there was controversial changes made to the education system. President of the NSTU Liette Doucet says she is confident they will get a yes vote from members.

A 17 year old male from Parkdale, NS is facing charges after he was found driving with his blood alcohol level twice the legal limit. Police also seized a rifle found on the passenger seat of his car. He’s due for court in Bridgewater next month.

The members of the Canadian rock band Hedley have withdrawn from consideration for 3 awards at this year’s Junos. Last week the group was accused of sexual misconduct allegations that had been circulated by anonymous social media users. However the band will move ahead with 2 dozen shows they have booked through March 23rd.
