The federal NDP is currently not planning an investigation into how the party handled allegations of sexual misconduct against former MP Peter Stoffer. Most recently several women who worked for the party have come forward alleging Stoffer touched & kissed them inappropriately. Stoffer, who held the Halifax-area riding of Sackville-Eastern Shore from 1997 to 2015, has acknowledged some of his actions may have caused discomfort but he denies sexually assaulting or physically abusing anyone.


A group of industry regulators are meeting today to investigate a body mix up & mistaken cremation at Serenity Funeral Home in the Valley. The Nova Scotia Board of Registration of Embalmers & Funeral Directors will conduct the inquiry. Regardless of the outcome there is no requirement to ever make their findings public.
