One person has died after a fatal fire in Nova Scotia. Human remains were found in a home in Falmouth yesterday morning. No word yet on what caused the fire.

Yesterday’s heavy rain caused a Brook in Antigonish to overflow and flood parking lots & a sports field. It’s the second flood to hit the town in less than a week. Antigonish Mayor Laurie Boucher says a few businesses had to shut down & some residents had to evacuate their homes because of flooded basements.

The federal government will unveil long awaited changes to Canada’s Fisheries Act later today. Independence of inshore fisheries and restoring environmental protections are just two of the topics on the table. Fisheries Minister Dominic LeBlanc is in Vancouver today to announce the updated law.
