Police have arrested a man after a bomb threat at a bank on Spring Garden Road yesterday. The RBC Royal Bank received a threatening phone call from an anonymous person just after 10:00AM. A 38 year old man from Cole Harbour remains in custody.


An American man has been charged in the death of a Mountie who was hit by a van while helping someone change a flat tire on the side of a New Brunswick highway in September. The 31 year old man from Pennsylvania has been charged with driving without care & attention and failing to move over. The 35 year old Mountie was a former member of the force’s famed Musical Ride and had just gotten married last summer.


A 50 year old man is facing charges after police searched a Bedford business and a Halifax home. Geoffrey Barnes is charged with one count of possession of child pornography. He is scheduled for court next month.
