The family of a teenage Bedford hockey player who died after suffering a cardiac arrest on the ice 4 years ago is welcoming an apology from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. 16 year old Jordan Boyd had an undiagnosed heart condition when he collapsed and died in Bathurst, New Brunswick at a training camp. The league initially defended their actions but now say it has become clear that critical “first-aid readiness” needs to improve.


Canada’s climate change ambassador, Jennifer MacIntyre, is stepping down after the sudden death of her husband. Her husband, Michael Fink, passed away in October. He was 48 years old.


As of yesterday grocery shopping in Halifax has taken a new turn. Loblaws launched its “Click & Collect” program in Atlantic Canada for the first time. The program allows customers to order their groceries online and then pick them up at a specific time and location for a fee ranging from $3 to $5.
