The jury in the murder trial of Christopher Garnier watched about 3 hours of his police interrogation video following his arrest in the death of Catherine Campbell. The video shows Garnier sitting in silence for 20 minutes followed by sobbing and sniffling. Campbell’s body was found under the MacDonald bridge in September 2015.

A former groundskeeper at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax is facing charges in relation to an incident in a dorm room in September. Police say Matthew Percy sexually assaulted a woman in a residence on Gorsebrook Avenue and recorded it on his cellphone. He’s scheduled for court today.

Yesterday Northern Pulp held a public consultation on a new waste treatment facility for the Pictou County pulp mill. The proposed location for the waste pipe outfall is in the Northumberland Strait. About 75,000 cubic metres of waste water a day would be treated at the new facility.
