Human remains were found Saturday morning in a wooded area near East Uniacke. A hunter came across the remains and called police around 9:30AM. RCMP would not release any more information about the discovery.

Unionized employees of the Halifax Shipyard have voted to give their negotiating team a strike mandate. About 800 of the union’s members work at the shipyard. Issues to be discussed include work breaks, seniority and paid sick time.

A 21 year old man in Dartmouth was assaulted Saturday night after being tricked by two men who asked him to deposit a cheque. One of the suspects took money out of the man’s account before running off. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
