Yesterday in Nova Scotia supreme court police told the jury about the items they found in accused murderer Christopher Garnier’s car. Yellow rope, tape, a green tarp and work gloves were found in his car just days after Catherine Campbell’s body was found. The Crown alleges that Garnier dumped Campbell’s body under the bridge after he strangled her in a nearby Halifax apartment.
Police are investigating after a man was found unconscious on a Halifax street. Officers were called to Maitland Street around 10:00PM Tuesday after someone saw the 40 year old victim on the ground unconscious with injuries to his head & face. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
Halifax regional council has unanimously passed a motion to consider a controversial development in Beechville. Beechville is an historical African Nova Scotian community, where Black refugees settled after the War of 1812. Proposed is a mixed-use development which would include more than 1200 housing units on 59 acres of undeveloped land north of St. Margaret’s Bay Road.
