Police are investigating after a suspicious death at a continuing care facility in Dartmouth. Officers were called to Clarmar Care on Main Street Wednesday night where two male residents were fighting. A 70 year old man died at the scene.

Two violent inmates from Halifax have each been sentenced to 4 months for assaulting Dennis Oland at a New Brunswick prison. 28 year old Cody Muise & 27 year old Aaron Marriott were sentenced yesterday. They both pleaded guilty to assaulting Oland in July of last year.

For the first time ever the Halifax Public Gardens will be open year round. The historic gardens will be open from 8:00AM to 4:00PM throughout the winter months. Previously, the gardens closed in the middle of November and did not open again until the Spring.
