Police are investigating after a 4 week old infant was found early yesterday morning on Quinpool Road. The baby was taken to the IWK Health Centre where doctors determined she is healthy. Police say it’s the first case of its kind in Halifax in 25 years.

RCMP located a man on Saturday who escaped custody when he was barefoot and wearing a hospital gown. The 31 year old, who faces assault charges among others, was found at a home in Three Mile Plains. He’s currently in custody and is due for court in Windsor this morning.

A Yarmouth County man has died after his boat capsized Friday while he was trying to help people on an island near Melbourne. The 67 year old man was pulled from the water after his boat suffered mechanical issues. He died later in hospital.
