A Hammonds Plains diving company has been ordered to pay $34,000 after the death of 39 year old Luke Seabrook. Seabrook drowned in July 2015 at the Annapolis Tidal Power Plant after getting stuck underwater while inspecting a gate. The company plead guilty and faces 2 charges under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

A 54 year old man from Lower West Pubnico has died after a single vehicle crash on a highway near Yarmouth. The vehicle left the road and crashed into a utility pole Wednesday night on Highway 308. The investigation is ongoing.

Former Nova Scotia MP Megan Leslie is now the head of the Canadian chapter of an international conservation organization. Leslie says she is excited to become the president and CEO of World Wildlife Fund for Canada. Her new position comes 2 years after losing her seat in the federal election.
