A man is dead after a car crash on a highway in Cape Breton. On Wednesday 3 men driving in a truck lost control and overturned into a ditch on the Cabot Trail. One of the passengers, a 21 year old man from Pleasant Bay, died at the scene. The driver was given a week long suspension for alcohol consumption.

A Halifax man accused of killing 2 men in Sheet Harbour has been granted bail. 65 year old Elmer Higgins was arrested in August and charged with second-degree murder in the deaths of 22 year old Matthew Hebb & 59 year old Earle Stewart. Their bodies were found in a burnt-out cabin off Highway 374 on the Eastern Shore in December 2012.

A 53 year old man has been charged with attempted murder & robbery after an assault on Gaston Road in Dartmouth Monday night. Police were called to an apartment building and found a 59 year old man suffering from life-threatening injuries, he’s still in hospital. No names have been released.
