A woman is facing charges after a collision during the afternoon rush hour yesterday. A man and woman known to each other got into a verbal argument around Larry Uteck Boulevard. She ended up following him onto the 102 and around Exit 4C she hit his vehicle with hers forcing him off the highway. The 32 year old woman is due in court this morning.


Hundreds of people lined up early yesterday to enter Ikea in Dartmouth. Some came to win gift certificates, others for opening sales, while some just wanted to take it all in. After Mayor Mike Savage cut the ribbon people rushed inside and the store had over 2000 visitors by 9:30AM.


The province is spending $2.7 million over 2 years to help residents in 5 historic black communities. The goal is to obtain the legal title to land that’s been passed down through families for generations. The funding applies to the communities of North & East Preston, Cherry Brook, all in HRM, as well as Lincolnville and Sunnyville in Guysborough County.
