Halifax police are launching an investigation into the financial practices at the IWK Health Centre. Former hospital CEO Tracy Kitch spent thousands of dollars in personal charges to the hospital. On Tuesday Nova Scotia Auditor General Michael Pickup announced his office would also audit the IWK’s books.

Two Digby County men are facing attempted murder charges after a 71 year old man ran into the woods while being shot at. On September 13th police got a call about an abandoned truck with bullet holes in Annapolis County. A 37 year old from Plympton & a 26 year old from Mount Pleasant have been arrested and are scheduled for court.

$6.5 million dollars will be donated to the Nova Scotia Community College system thanks to 3 separate Sobey foundations. The largest contribution worth 4 million came from the Donald R. Sobey Foundation, which will be used to create student bursaries across the province. A total of 80 bursaries worth $2000 each will be awarded annually.
