Eleven potential sites for a new Mumford Tranist Terminal were unveiled to the public yesterday in Halifax. The Mumford Terminal is one of the busiest in Halifax with more than 9000 passengers using the terminal daily. Some of the proposed sites include Joseph Howe Drive at Superstore, Desmond Avenue, and several different locations on Bayers Road, among others.


As we all gear up for the grand opening of IKEA in Dartmouth a local non-profit organization wants you to keep them in mind. An online petition to rename Cornwallis Street in Halifax’s North End already has close to 1000 signatures. The petition is to rename the street to ‘Rocky Jones Blvd.’ Jones was a longtime community leader who proudly stood up for the rights of Mi’kmaq and African Nova Scotian residents.
