A man from Windsor facing a number of charges has been ordered to undergo a 30 day psychiatric examination. 38 year old David Farrell threatened a man with a machete, stole a truck, ran away from police & crashed into a gas station in Lower Sackville, injuring 2 people. Farrell appeared briefly in court yesterday and was remanded to the East Coast Forensic Hospital in Dartmouth.

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is working to reschedule about 300 appointments after a power disruption occurred during a routine generator test at the VG hospital Wednesday morning.
Electricity was restored in some areas within half an hour, but the hospital was without backup electricity for most of the day.
The cancer centre remained closed, which meant 162 radiation treatments were cancelled.
More junior high & high school students in Nova Scotia are now able to access mental health support through an adolescent outreach program. The program started in Cape Breton in 2009 and expanded last fall to include 41 schools in western & northern Nova Scotia. Health Minister Randy Delorey says that the province will spend almost $1 million annually on the expansion of the program.
