6 people were arrested last night who were protesting outside the Canada Post offices on Almon Street. Police were called to Monaghan Drive around 7:30 for a report of 5 backed up vehicles and a group of protestors blocking the road so the mail trucks couldn’t approach the building. Police have not yet clarified what charges will be laid.

A 41 year old man from Glace Bay died Friday night after a single vehicle crash in Mira Gut. A 16 year old boy who was also in the vehicle was treated in hospital but is expected to survive. No names have been released.

Turns out the human remains found in a jar by construction workers in Lunenburg this summer were of a small fetus. Workers spotted the jar behind the wastewater treatment facility on Starr Street on July 25th, which used to be a garbage dumping site. Police are still investigating.
